MyLesen B2 Returns To Pensiangan, Helps Rural Residents Obtain Riding Licences

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Bernama) -- The MyLesen B2 programme has returned to Pensiangan, Sabah, to help residents obtain valid motorcycle riding licences and promote safer road use among rural communities.

Pensiangan Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup said the initiative was aimed at assisting rural residents, particularly youths, to obtain motorcycle licences without having to travel long distances to driving schools located in towns or cities.

He said participants would still be required to attend the necessary courses and undergo the prescribed tests to qualify for the licence, while enhancing their awareness and understanding of road traffic laws.

"This is important to ensure the safety of all road users and reduce road accidents. We will assist you throughout the process until you successfully obtain your licence," he said in a Facebook post today.

Arthur, who is also the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister said the programme was open to residents aged between 16 and 63, especially those who had never held a driving licence before.

Arthur said possessing a valid licence would enable participants to travel legally while opening up greater employment and economic opportunities, particularly for young men and women.

He said the licence assistance programme could be life-changing for recipients as the licence would remain valid for lifelong use, subject to compliance with prevailing licensing regulations.

Registration forms are available at the Pensiangan Parliamentary Service Centre and the Sook State Assemblyman's Service Centre.
