Pasar Patuh Programme Expands To Eight Johor Wet Markets
MERSING, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Some 406 traders in Johor are taking part in the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living’s (KPDN) Pasar PATUH Programme at eight selected wet markets to encourage compliance among traders and protect consumers.
Johor KPDN, in a statement, said the initiative aims to promote responsible business practices while creating a fair, transparent and consumer-friendly trading environment.
“The approach not only ensures traders follow regulations but also encourages them to make compliance part of their daily business practices,” it said.
KPDN said the PATUH concept is guided by five main principles to help traders conduct fair and responsible transactions. These include displaying clear prices, using verified weighing equipment, ensuring transparent transactions, practising honesty in business, offering reasonable prices and avoiding profiteering.

The programme is supported by local authorities (PBT), Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), Johor State Health Department, Metrology Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd and De Metrology Sdn Bhd to ensure traders comply with the required standards
“This collaboration shows a shared commitment to creating a more organised trading environment and increasing awareness among traders,” the statement added.
