N9 Polls: PH Jeram Padang Candidate Offers 10-pillar Manifesto

SEREMBAN, July 28 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Jeram Padang state constituency G. Manivanan has unveiled a 10-pillar manifesto focusing on job opportunities, youth development, and community welfare.

The manifesto, themed ‘Tekad Kita Bina Jeram Padang’, sets out plans to strengthen the local economy, improve public amenities, and ensure balanced development for all segments of society if he wins the seat in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election.

Manivanan said he would focus on sustainable economic development by attracting investment, strengthening small and medium enterprises (SMEs), supporting local entrepreneurs, and creating jobs for Jeram Padang residents.

“For the youth, the manifesto offers jobs through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) programmes, digital skills development, entrepreneurship, and talent development programmes to produce competitive young individuals,” he told Bernama today.

He also pledged to upgrade basic infrastructure such as roads, clean water, electricity, and high-speed internet, and to improve public amenities for residents.

The manifesto also includes welfare support for veterans, retirees, senior citizens, women, and persons with disabilities (PwDs) through assistance programmes.

It also outlines plans to build and upgrade community halls, centres, recreational parks, multipurpose courts, sports complexes, and other facilities based on local needs.

The manifesto aims to ensure balanced community development for all, including Malay, Indian, Chinese, and Orang Asli communities, as well as residents in FELDA and FELCRA settlements.

Manivanan also pledged to provide educational assistance, tuition classes, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programmes, digital skills training, leadership development, and support for students and educational institutions.

Healthcare access will be expanded through health screening programmes and awareness campaigns, alongside efforts to champion better healthcare facilities. In addition, attention and support will also be given to hawkers and small traders.

He said the people's voice would remain a priority through transparent and accessible administration.

Manivanan said he is also committed to engaging with residents, listening to their concerns, and ensuring decisions take into account community interests.

The Jeram Padang seat will see a four-cornered contest involving Manivanan, incumbent Datuk Mohd Zaidy Abdul Kadir from Barisan Nasional (BN), R. Sri Sanjeevan (Bersatu), and Dayana Dal (Parti Orang Asli Malaysia).

Polling for the Negeri Sembilan State Election is set for this Saturday.
