Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah Donates RM30,600 To Tawau Flood Victims
TAWAU, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji presented RM30,600 in donations on behalf of Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah to Tawau Municipal Council president Mohd Shoffian Mohd Said today.
The aid is directed to 102 heads of household affected by recent floods, with each receiving RM300 each, Hajiji said, and is aimed to reduce their financial burdens.
"Appreciation is also given to all disaster management staff including the Civil Defence Force, the Royal Malaysia Police and the Fire and Rescue Department, along with the Health Ministry, the Tawau disaster management committee and other agencies that did their best to help flood victims,” he said in a statement today.
Their collective efforts and cooperation were vital in ensuring the welfare of the flood victims throughout the disaster period, he added.
Tawau was hit by floods on July 25 and 362 people were evacuated to a relief centre at Dewan Serbaguna Kompleks Sukan Tawau.
