N.Sembilan Polls: BN Secures 18 Seats As PH Takes 11, PN Seven - EC
SEREMBAN, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional (BN) emerged as the biggest winner of the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election today after capturing 18 of the 36 seats in the State Legislative Assembly, the Election Commission (EC) said.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) secured 11 seats while Perikatan Nasional (PN) won seven, EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said when announcing the official final results at 11.57 pm.
“A total of 646,084 voters, or 72.64 per cent of the overall registered electorate, comprising early, postal and ordinary voters, cast their ballots in the state election,” he told a media conference here tonight.
Ramlan said the EC was satisfied with the overall conduct of polling, adding that registered voters had been able to exercise their democratic right without incident.
A total of 103 candidates contested the 36 seats on offer in this election.
In the 2023 state election, PH won 17 seats, followed by BN with 14 and PN with five.
