SEREMBAN, July 31 (Bernama) -- Hours before campaigning officially ends at 11.59 pm today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim turned to social media to deliver his final appeal to voters ahead of polling day.

Besides Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, the message also featured Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, and was broadcast live on the Pakatan Harapan Official TikTok account.

Anwar will later take part in the Grand Finale Kekal Harapan event in Bahau, the final campaign platform for PH ahead of the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election.

The event will also see the attendance of PH communications director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, the coalition’s leaders and its candidates vying for seats in the state polls.

A total of 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, are eligible to cast their ballots tomorrow to choose representatives for 36 state assembly constituencies.

Early voting on Tuesday (July 28) saw 14,995 voters, or 91.06 per cent of those eligible, cast their ballots.

PH is the only coalition contesting all 36 state seats, with BN fielding candidates in 25 constituencies, Bersatu in 24 and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in 11. Four independent candidates are also in the race, alongside single candidates from Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (Berjasa), Parti Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI) and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM).

The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 5 with the consent of the state’s ruler, Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, paving the way for the state election.

At the 2023 state election, PH emerged as the largest bloc with 17 of the 36 state assembly seats, followed by BN with 14 and PN with five.
