He said the development achieved in Port Dickson provides a strong foundation for taking Linggi into its next phase of growth, particularly in economic expansion, job creation and the provision of better public facilities.

"We leave it to the people to judge. What we are presenting is a proven record of work, not merely promises. We want to continue the efforts that have already begun so that the benefits of development can be enjoyed by the people," he told Bernama here today.

According to him, his next priority is to strengthen the local economy, create more employment opportunities and provide facilities that directly benefit residents.

The PKR vice-president said balanced development efforts have gathered greater momentum since Pakatan Harapan formed the state government through strategic cooperation with the Federal Government.

Among the high-impact projects secured for Port Dickson, he said, are technology giant Google's investment in the Springhill industrial area and the implementation of an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven Smart Port project.

Aminuddin said that both initiatives will not only add value to the local economy but also attract higher-quality investments and create better-paying jobs for the people.

He said that his administration's strategical approach is to ensure the benefits of economic growth are extended throughout Port Dickson, from the Selangor border at Sepang to the Melaka border.

The next focus is to ensure Linggi keeps pace with the state's economic growth while maintaining a balance between development and the needs of the local community, he said.

"Our aspiration and priority is to ensure every segment of society in Linggi enjoys the benefits of economic growth, new employment opportunities and a more competitive standard of living," he said.

Aminuddin said Linggi is a rural constituency comprising diverse socio-economic groups, including fishermen, farmers, estate workers, the Orang Asli community, as well as Malay, Chinese and Indian residents.

He said Linggi differs significantly from Sikamat, the constituency he has represented since 2008, which is largely suburban and characterised by established residential areas.

"Among the issues frequently faced by residents there (Sikamat) include housing as well as natural disasters such as floods and strong winds.

"In Linggi, the challenges are different and more varied. Fishermen require support for assets and basic facilities such as boats and nets, while there are also damaged houses and abandoned housing projects that require immediate attention," he said.

In the three-cornered contest tomorrow, Aminuddin will face incumbent Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Datuk Zamri Md Said of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
