Abide By Tuanku Muhriz’s Decree, Submit New Exco List - N.Sembilan AMH
SEREMBAN, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan chapter of Angkatan Muda Harapan (AMH), Pakatan Harapan’s youth wing, has urged Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim to submit a new list of candidates for the vacant state executive council posts, in keeping with a decree issued by Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
In a statement, Negeri Sembilan AMH said Ismail should submit the list for the Ruler’s consideration and consent, pursuant to Article XXXVIII(2) of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959.
“There should no longer be any confusion over the steps that need to be taken. Negeri Sembilan AMH believes this issue should not be allowed to drag on to the extent that it affects the stability of the state administration and public confidence.
“The Menteri Besar himself, in his latest statement, stressed that the state government’s responsibility is to ensure that the administration continues to function, the people continue to receive services, and the dignity of Negeri Sembilan's customary and royal institutions continues to be upheld,” it said in the statement here today.
The wing said the issue was not about who won or lost in the political dispute, but more importantly about ensuring that Negeri Sembilan administration could resume functioning in a clear, orderly and stable manner.
“The people of Negeri Sembilan should not continue to bear the burden of prolonged uncertainty. End the crisis and restore stability to the administration of Negeri Sembilan,” it said.
Ismail today urged the authorities to reconsider the directive barring former state executive council members whose appointments were revoked by Tuanku Muhriz recently from entering their offices and resuming their administrative duties, taking into account the needs of the state government and the interests of the people.
